About Aspen Restorative Consulting

At Aspen Restorative Consulting, we believe that strong, connected communities are built on open communication, trust, and a shared commitment to belonging. Our mission is to help organisations, government agencies, and communities navigate conflict, strengthen relationships, and cultivate a restorative culture that leads to lasting transformation.

Who We Are

Founded in 2016 in Wellington, New Zealand by Haley Farrar and Lindsey Pointer, Aspen Restorative Consulting brings over a decade of expertise in restorative justice, facilitation, and conflict resolution. Our team has supported organisations and institutions around the world in building healthier, more inclusive environments through the implementation of restorative practices.

What We Do

We provide tailored restorative responses and training to public and private organisations, offering:

  • Workplace and Organisational Conflict Resolution: Facilitating restorative processes that address tensions, rebuild trust, and promote a positive workplace culture.

  • Leadership Development & Training: Equipping teams, schools, universities, and workplaces with practical, research-backed strategies to foster empathy, accountability, and authentic connection.

  • Restorative Justice Consulting: Supporting justice-focused organisations worldwide with expert guidance on best practices and implementation strategies.

  • Coaching, Supervision, & Mentorship: Empowering leaders, educators, and practitioners through personalised support and hands-on training.

Our Approach

We believe in working alongside communities to create sustainable, restorative systems that honour the voices of all involved. Our methodology blends deep expertise with an unwavering commitment to meaningful and lasting change. We are hands-on, practical, and deeply invested in equipping individuals and organisations with the tools to embed restorative values into everyday practice.

Our Commitment to Te Tiriti o Waitangi

Throughout our work and relationships with our clients and each other, we are committed to upholding the principles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. We are guided by the restorative values - relationship, responsibility, respect, and repair - that shape our kaupapa. As an organisation we acknowledge the ongoing journey necessary to deepen our knowledge and response to the history, impacts, and importance of Te Tiriti o Waitangi. We commit to doing what’s required to better understand and respond to the historical and current racism and colonisation in Aotearoa. This includes naming and addressing our own biases and privilege through critical reflection, understanding our own whakapapa as well as our ongoing learning of Te Tiriti, te reo Māori and tikanga Māori.

Our materials, curriculum, and processes have been developed in partnership with…

Restorative Practices are founded on the values of Relationship, Respect and Responsibility.

These values drive everything we do, and define how we hold ourselves accountable to each other and to you.

We believe that every individual is the expert of their own life. It follows that each community knows itself better than we could ever hope to. We ask that you take your restorative learnings and apply them in ways that best suit you. As our client, you are an active participant in the design of the process or training you need and the support you require. You tell us what you need - we've got your back.

But why ‘aspen?’

In addition to being a beautiful image of the co-founders’ home state of Colorado, aspens hold a special meaning.

Though seeming to stand alone, at times appearing impossibly slender in the harsh conditions of the high desert, aspens are remarkably strong. Their unique root systems connect thousands of trees together underground.

This connection through the root system means that aspen groves are the largest organism in the world.

We believe humanity is just the same.

We are all deeply connected, just under the surface. Our community is where we find support to grow and thrive - if only we tap into our connected roots.
